The book I read was Princess in Waiting by Meg Cabot.
This book part of the Princess Diaries series. Princess Mia takes a trip to Genovia for the holidays. While there she stays in the palace with her grandmother, father, and cousin Rene. She has to attend many parliament sessions and other group meetings. This is Mia's first time visiting Genovia. She has to meet many of the people and give speeches. Her grandmother has been giving her princess lessons after school since fall to prepare her for this trip. It is very important that see makes a good impression the first time there because she is the heir to the throne. She struggles through this whole trip because all she can think about in her boyfriend Michael. Finally when she is back home in Manhattan Michael asks Mia out on there first date.
