David had just moved with his grandmother and his dad shortly after his mother died. Ever since David's mom died he has follows all rules. On Easter, David's grandma takes him to an Easter egg hunt and when he goes to look for an egg he finds a beautiful girl who he believes is dead. Later that week he meets Primrose, the girl he believed was dead. Over times they became friends although Primrose was five years older than David.
One day, David and Primrose get into a fight and don't talk to each other for a couple months. Until one day when Primrose comes to take David to find the waving man with her. The waving man lived in Philadelphia where he waved at every car that drove by. They runaway to find him without any clue of where they went. They discover the true meaning of friendship and the waving man's secret.
