In this book Fred and his pet dinosaur, Dino, were in the living room and Fred was trying to teach Dino how to fetch their stone newspaper, but Dino broke it once again. As Fred was reading the puzzled together news-rock he saw the headline, Fire Ruby Stolen! This was interesting to Fred and as he read on he saw a note saying that the great detective Perry Gunnite needed an assistant who can see small things, is good at putting things together, and is willing to face great danger. Fred told Barney that he was going to be Perry's assistant and that Barney could come make sure that Fred got the job, and if not then Barney could rub it in Fred's face. Fred went to get the job, and he did but he didn't know the great Perry Gunnite was really looking for an office maid. Fred had to take the job though or Barney would think Fred didn't get his job, so Fred started to clean and Perry left to investigate further on the stolen Fire Ruby case.

After Perry leaves Barney shows up at the office to make sure that Fred got the job, and he did, but Barney wanted to stay because Mrs. Fire had just shown up and she wanted some answers on her missing Ruby, so Fred and Barney each put on a disguise and they left. They went to the crime scene and there were no marks that the ruby had been dragged away, but the ruby was as big as Barney so no human being could pick it up. When Perry Gunnite showed up they looked all together for any clues. The ruby sat on a pedestal and the pedestal had a trap door. Fred, Barney, Perry and Mrs. Fire all went in this door sliding down they landed hard. Now how were they to get out of that. They better figure out soon because the criminal is in the house for now but is soon going to be on the run.

My Favorite book in the whole world, trust me, I've read it more then once!

Landon, at 17 is a no good trouble maker. He lives with his mother, his father away for business. Jamie, her father being a Priest is very religious, and very caring. She helps the orphanage, and puts out cans for donations. And all the adults love her. Landon and Jamie were never friends, and never really spoke to each other either, but when the two get the star leads for the school play, they walk home together, practice their lines together, but only Jamie is enjoying it. Landon is alittle well, stubborn. He likes things the way they were going. But then, when he starts to fall for Jamie, he finds out the truth of why they can't be together. But that doesn't stop him. Emily Windsnap and the Castle in the Mist By Liz Kessler

It would help a lot if, before reading this book, you read the first and second books.
In the previous books Emily discovers that she is half mermaid and half human. (Semi-Mer) Her and her merman father and her human mother move to an island so that they can all be at peace together.
In this book Emily discovers a beautiful diamond ring while searching for gems for their ruler, Neptune. When showing Neptune her findings he is not happy. Neptune previously gave his dead human wife a ring just like that one only it was a pearl, Neptune had the diamond one. After his wife Aurora (human) went missing he threw his ring into the ocean out of anger. And that is how Emily found it. The reason Neptune was so angry is because he cast a law that states that mer people and humans should never interact again. (That previously happeded). While in an argument with Neptune that involved a huge storm and an extremely large current, Emily gets into a different location. At that spot while nothing seemed right, she saw a castle. Emily takes many journeys to that castle to find out the history of the two rings. Emily must find the other ring in order to make peace with human and merfolk. And even more inportant choose between her mother and life on land or her father and the crazy life in the sea.

Valley of The Lost

Valley of The Lost is a short but great book. The book starts out right after the last one after the Maze of the Beast. Lief and his partners, Barda and Jasmine, have to find the last stone to the Belt of Deltora which is hidden in The Valley of The Lost. They have lots of adventures and meet some new and old people along the way there.

They rescued Dain who saved their life earlier from Ols and went to Tora, Del's sister city.
Dain was born in Tora but was taken away by pirates when he was a kid so he couldnt remember Tora. Lief, Barda, and Jasmine had never been to Tora and it was supposed to be a beautiful magical place. When they get there they find a surprise to everyone.

The Rifle by Gary Paulson

The Rifle was a short but good book about a rifle that was made before the Revolutionary War. It was given to a man that ended up going into the war and the rifle takes this really interesting journey. I feel the book was well worth reading so I do recommened it to anyone that like stories that don't end the way you think it will.

Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

The book "Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" had many interesting mysteries in which Sherlock Holmes, with the help of his partner, Watson, investegate and solve a wide variety of cases. Even though this book was written in the late 1800s, and has very fancy vocabulary, it is a very fun book to read.

An example of one of the mysteries is "THE ADVENTURE OF THE ENGINEER"S THUMB". This case is about a hydraulic engineer, an owner of his own company, who was approached by a very shady military man who wanted to hire him to fix a large hydraulic pump, which he was using to mine very precious and rare stone. The engineer accepted the offer and suspicious met the military man at his home. At that point things went haywire and everything that could go wrong, went wrong.

Another very good mystery is "THE ADVENTURE OF THE SPECKLED BAND" in which in the middle of the night, a woman's sister screams and then dies. The sister then goes to Sherlock and Watson and they get right on the case. This is my personal favorite of the book and has many twists and turns that surprise you until you reach the climax, the best part of the book in my opinion.

Overall, if you have the time, and the patience to read this weird dialect, I highly suggest this book to anyone.

Mystery Explosion

The book I read was Mystery Explosion by Jonnie Tuitel and Sharon Lamson, it is a great mystery book!

This book is about Jonnie and his Gun Lake friends. This time Jonnie and his friends set out to try to help solve a crime. Can they do it? It all starts with a mysterious explosion that leads to arrest. Is the right person accused or is there more to the story and possibly a different person? Will the Gun Lake kids be brave enough to solve this dangerous crime? I also don't think anyone has had a scarier game of laser tag before either. To find the answers to all of these questions and many more you will have to read Mystery Explosion.

Also in the Gun Lake Adventure Series is:
1.)The Barn at Gun Lake
2.)Mystery Explosion
3.)Discovery on Blackbird Island
4.)Searching the Noonday Trail
5.)Adventure in the Bear Tooth Mountains
6.)The Lights in Bradford Manor

The Promise: The Moving Story of a Family in the Holocaust

"The Promise" is a story about the most famous holocaust survior's struggle to stay alive during World War II, told in the point of view of she herself, Eva Schloss, along with help from a close friend named Barbara Powers.

During Eva's early days, she lived a normal life just like everyone else. Until the Nazis invaded Austria and forced Pappy (her father), Mutti (her mother), Heinz (her brother), and her to flee to nearby Holland and then to Amsterdam.

The family lived in peace for a while until the Nazis invaded again. This time the family had to seperate so Heinz and Pappy went to one place to hide, and Mutti and Eva went to another place. They all had to live in hiding for a few months until someone ratted them out and they were all sent into chaos.

This is a very strong book with a very good meaning. I highly suggest you read it. You can visit Eva Schloss' website at http://www.evaschloss.com/index.htm. She currently does not have any other books but this one is amazing.

After that, things start getting really crazy! He begins to see ghosts -- dragon ghosts. First, over a fire, then moving rocks that spell "go away". Finally Wiglaf believes him and gives a letter to Brother Dave, the librarian at DSA, asking about the Dragononka dragons. Brother Dave tells him some frightening news and they finally find out what the big dig is and why it is on Dragononka Ridge. The Iliad of Homer

The tale of Iliad, written by Homer is not the story of Troy many of us have heard. This tale starts about 2 weeks before the end of the Trojan war not at the beginning of the 10 year war. Also this book does not end with the Trojan Horse. In fact the Trojan Horse is not mentioned at all.

This story of the Trojan War starts with a fight between Agamemnon King of all Kings and Achilles equal to the Gods. The quarrel is over a slave girl, Briesis, that Agamemnon took when he had to give his up. Only when Achilles comrade and adopted brother Patroclus is killed does Achilles fight and fight with passion to avenge his fallen comrade.
Achilles in his vengeance against the Trojans and their allies finally kills Hector, first and most loved son of Priam (Trojan King), only then does his anger subside and he gives the proper funeral rights to Patroclus.

I would read this book because even though it can be hard to understand at times and a little bit gross it gives you lots of action. Also this book lets you learn a little bit about how the Trojan's and Greeks thought of the Gods and how they thought the Gods would send them messages or visit them.
