Missing May By Shelby Allen

I was amazed when I began to read Missing May by Cynthia Rylant. Summer a 12 year old girl who jumped from relative to relative. Summer has been living in a trailer in a town called Deep Water with her Uncle Ob and Aunt May since she was about seven years old. One day they slip into a depression that they can't shake off after May passes away in the garden. Uncle Ob stops making his wonderful whirligigs and does not even feel a reason to get out of bed anymore. How can Summer bring things back to the way they used to be. One day when Uncle Ob was in the kitchen he told Summer that he felt her and it comforted him. When he hears that there is a lady in West Virgina who can help people communicate with the dead. Summer thinks that he is crazy to take a three hour car ride to see a lady that they don't even no is still alive. Uncle Ob desides to take Cletus With him because he thinks that he may want to see the capital. Then one day Uncle Ob and Summer finally realize that even thought they miss May they can keep going with there daily lives.
