Dairy of a Wimpy Kid, The Last Straw, by Jeff Kinney

Hey all you wimpy kid fans, this is the third book of Greg Heffley's "journal." Greg Heffley is a student that is extremely below average if you see everyone else at this school. He isn't the strongest or the smartest, but he is the funniest. Greg's journal is a day by day account of his life. In his journal he shares how he survives his life with an overprotected little brother, Manny, and an extremely aggressive older brother, Rodrick.

Greg faces lots of challenges including being constantly picked on by Rodrick, dealing with his father's disappointment in his not being athletic and his mom's frustration with his lack of social activities. Greg journals his challenges and how he survives. But this time, the biggest challenge he faces is his dad making him go to Spag Union a military boot camp. Will Greg go to boot camp, will his story have a happy ending and maybe he will meet someone new? Check out this great book to find out!

If you haven't already, be sure to check out the first two of Greg's Journals.

How to Speak Dragoneese by Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III translated from the Old Norse by Cressida Cowell

Avast readers of fantasy, this is the third book in a series (see my previous two posts for highlights of the first two books).
In How to Speak Dragoneese, the adventures of Hiccup and Fishlegs continues as they pursue their quest to be viking heros. At the start of this adventure our heros, Hiccup and
Fishlegs, have just escaped being executed by Romans. Not soon after, they are taken to the dreadful Roman camp of Fort Sinister. There they meet up with another tribe's hier, named Camicazi. They join forces with Camicazi to escape Fort Sinister. Unfortunately, this takes many attempts and the reader follows along for all of them.
After that, they are sent into a Colossium to face the thought to be unkillable sharkworms. Sharkworms are dragons that are so scary you would only picture them in your worst nightmares. They live in the water, but they have the ability to go on land and can run faster than any human. Does Hiccup succeed? Does Hiccup fail? You can only find out by reading this exciting novel!
If you missed the first two books in this series, be sure to check out How to Train a Dragon and How to Be a Pirate. Stayed tuned for my post of the fourth book in this series, How to Cheat a Dragon's Curse coming soon.

How to Be a Pirate by Hiccup Horrendouse Haddock III, translated from the Old Norse by Cressida Cowell

Avast readers of fantasy, this is the second book in a series (see my previous post for a quick preview of the first book).
How to Be a Pirate continues the adventures of Hiccup and Fishlegs. In this book, they search for the treasure of Hiccup's greatgrandfather, Grimbeard the Ghastly, the most ruthless of all viking pirates. In their search they encounter deadly foes, cannibal tribes and that's just a few of the more friendly people they encounter. Hiccup is forced to use his wits to stay alive.
Once they have gotten "the treasure" they get trapped in a cave. Luckily they find a door. What's behind this door??? If I tell you that would ruin the story, so you'll just have to read the book and find out.
If you missed the first book in the series, don't forget to check out How to Train Your Dragon. Stayed tuned for information on the third book in this series, How to Speak Dragoneese.

How to Train Your Dragon by Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III translated from the Old Norse by Cressida Cowell

But Hiccup's dragon "Toothless" is very bad at being a dragon.
What follows next is the details of many humorous, gripping and mysterious adventures centered around Hiccup's and Fishlegs life, and of course Toothless. At the end of all this excitement, Hiccup and the reader learn that Toothless has unseen courage.

Return from Tomorrrow

Return From Tomorrow by George G. Richie and Elizabeth Sherrill is a great book to sit down and read! It is the most spiritual book I have ever read in my life. Well, close enough though.

This Book is about a Man named George Richie at the age of 20 that dies in an army hospital and comes to life 9 minutes later. I know what you are thinking "that is giving away the whole story" Right. Wrong. The thing is what happens when he is dead changes his whole aspect on life. Now you are going to be thinking that is pretty weird. It is actually really cool when you read the insight of what he was seeing, feeling, and hearing. He supposedly with God when he is dead. He sees things that not everyone has seen on this earth, but some people claim to hear upon it.

So, I ask you before you read this book, "What are you doing with your life?", because you will be asking yourself a lot about it when you are reading also. Hopefully this wonderfully descriptive book will change your life, too for the better than for the worst. This book will give you so many ideas to what is to come ahead in this life. It is unimaginable of what is to be in the next so called "Life".

Suprise Suprise

The book I read was Surprise! Surprise! It is written by Agatha Christie. It is a great mystery book for any type of reader.

The book Surprise! Surprise! is a series of short stories. Each story is around twenty pages and so suspenseful you won't want to stop in the middle. The stories are very tricky and very good. I personally believe that these short stories take a little while to develop, because of this it is not as detailed as some people would like. Something interesting is that most of the stories take place in a different locations around the world in the early 1930's.

Aphrodite then decides to make a sister,, Xathe, fall in love with a boy, Alastor, and the Alastor then falls in love with Marpessa, other sister. The problem is that Marpessa knows Xanthe loves Alsator but Xanthe doesn't know that Alastor loves Marpessa. That is only one love triangle. To be a part of the Gun Lake Gang he has to go through an initiation. For this he has to go to the old barn and bring out something to prove that he went inside. Jonnie brings out a CD case. The kids think it might be part of CD pirating. Jonnie and his new friends go through some exciting adventures. Your have to read the book to see if they get caught spying or if CD pirating is really happening.

This book is based on a true story and it takes place in Michigan. Jonnie Tuitel now goes around and is a motivational speaker.

The Barn at Gun Lake is part of the Gun Lake Adventure series. This website tells a little bit about Jonnie Tuitel http://www.johnnietuitel.com/home.html.

Murdered, My Sweet

The book that I read is called Murdered, My Sweet, by Joan Lowery Nixon.

The main character, Jenny and her mother, Madeline Jakes (a famous mystery writer) are staying at a hotel in California. They are there to visit some distant relatives, Celebrate Arnold Harmony's Birthday (a distant relative), and to hear the reading of Arnold's will, even thought he isn't dead. Arnold owns a chocolate company named Harmony Cholcolates. The reading of the will is deylayed when Arnold doesn't show up. When a relative goes to look for Arnold, they discover that it wasn't Arnold that has been murdered, but Arnold's son. Even thought Madeline is the mystery writer, will Jenny really be the one solving the mystery??? Alot of very interesting events follow this scene. (But i cant give them away.)

I highly recomend this book if you like a lot of suspense.

City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare

In the first book, City of Bones (book before the one I am blogging about), a girl named Clary Fray can all of a sudden see these other creatures in her world that are from another dimension. Also Clary has found her long lost brother and father (wants to take over the world) and her mother who placed herself into a coma to protect her daughter. Now in City of Ashes she must find her father and stop his evil plot of ruining the world as she knows it. She must also fight for her mothers life and overcome the affections felt towards her brother. Clary also ends up juggling her mundane (human) best friend being wrapped in the drama and horror of her new world and life.

In the second book of The Mortal Instruments series, by Cassandra Clare, Clary is faced with new choices, forbidden love, and new heartaches. She must find her way in the new world she has been so forcefully thrust into.
