How to Train Your Dragon, by Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III is the first of many books. A 13 year-old viking by the name of Hiccup and his best friend, Fishlegs, with other vikings that are much better at doing what vikings do, go to the wild dragon cliffs. Their purpose is to catch a dragon for training. They are all successful in catching dragons and that's when the adventure really begins. But Hiccup's dragon "Toothless" is very bad at being a dragon.
What follows next is the details of many humorous, gripping and mysterious adventures centered around Hiccup's and Fishlegs life, and of course Toothless. At the end of all this excitement, Hiccup and the reader learn that Toothless has unseen courage.
