Dinotopia - Lost City is one of many in a series authorized by James Gurney, creator of DINOTOPIA. Dinotopia is an island where dinosaurs and shipwrecked humans have joined together to build a fantastic world.
In this book, three teenagers explore the ancient ruins of a lost city that they have discovered. Upon entering the lost city they are attacked (not really) Their attackers which were the smallest bug eating dinosaurs just wanted to lick their faces. Then, they see a light and a dinosaur about the size of one of them appears. They don't know if it is friend or foe. When it leaves, they decide to follow it. While following it, they discover it is a Troodon. Now they might become permanent residents of the lost city, if they don't find a way out.
One of the cool things about this series is it is written by many different authors. Lost City is written by Scott Ciencin who also wrote, Windchaser, Thunder Falls, Lost City, Return to the Lost City, The Explorers and Sky Dance in this series.
