I read a American Chillers book and the title is Florida Fog Phantoms and it is by Johnanthan Rand.
It is about when kids see something outside and they don't know what it is and so they went outside to see what it is and it was really foggy. They were scared of what of what is out there. So they went out there and something or someone got one of the kids and it was a phantom.
